#Summarizing YouTube videos with NotebookLM

YouTube keeps suggesting interesting videos (nice work by the data scientists on the recommendation algorithm), but unfortunately I don’t have time to watch them all.
A new trick I use daily: have NotebookLM summarize them.
It couldn’t be simpler:
- Create a notebook in NotebookLM and add the video link as a source
- Ask something like: “What are the main take-aways from this video?”
NotebookLM reads the full transcript and hands you a summary you can read in a minute, instead of watching the whole thing at 1.5x. And of course, you can ask follow-up questions about specific points.
If only we could do the same with meetings, instead of sitting through them.
